Soul Treats! - Soul music blog by Soulville UA

What it is.

Soultreats is Soulville U-A´s music blog. It´s updated several times a week with a new soulful record. It is our chance to spotlight the artists and record labels that made the music but rarely the charts.
It´s a celebration!

The legacy.
If you are, know or have any information about the artists, labels or musicians etc. that are mentioned in these pages, please share it with us by sending an email to: info@soultreats.se

Do not use the comment button for this since there is no way for me, for now, to know which additions have been commented on. Help us be as detailed as we possibly can in our description of this wonderful music.

Thanks in advance.

Bobby Womack - Tried And Convicted - Minit

60s SoulPosted by Martin Thu, March 19, 2009 07:33:43

Released at the very end of the 1960s, 1969 to be exact. A wonderful midtempo outing by the artist that had to go through hell and back before finally being able to get himself together. We told his story earlier on these pages when we featured his classic "How Could Yo Break My Heart" on Arista records (if you haven´t heard it, its a must and you´ll find it filed under 70s soul). A multi talented artist, singer and songwriter Womack´s life would problably make an excellent movie.
